SPECIAL MEETING

Special meeting of the City Council of the City of Janesville held in
the Municipal Building on June 30, 1997.
The meeting was called to order by Council President Cullen.
Present: Council President Cullen, Councilmembers O'Leary, Stehura
(arrived at 5:37), Westphal, Noll and Schneider.
Absent: Councilmember Brien.
A proposed resolution awarding $9,750,000 General Obligation
Promissory Notes, Series 1997, and establishing interest rates thereon
and levying taxes therefor.
Councilmember O'Leary moved to adopt said resolution, seconded by
Councilmember Westphal and passed by the following vote: Aye: Council
President Cullen, Councilmembers O'Leary, Stehura, Westphal and
Schneider. Nay: Councilmember Noll. (File Resolution No. 97-2184)
Matters not on the agenda.
Council President Cullen stated he will schedule a Council meeting on
or before July 28, 1997 to review proposals to sell the Ice Arena
based on Councilmembers schedules. In addition, he did not send a
letter to the State Legislature opposing the bill regulating local
rule on alcohol licenses. The legislation has been deleted in the
Assembly. He requested the Administration monitor the situation and
keep the Council informed.
Councilmember Westphal requested information on when the ordinance
requiring property owners to take responsibility for nuisance
complaints generated by their tenants will be scheduled for Council
action.
There being no further business, the Council adjourned at 5:50 p.m.
