12-28-92PROCEEDINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL CITY OF JANESVILLE, WISCONSIN REGULAR MEETING 28 December 1992 VOL. 43 NO. 26 APPROVED 1-11-93 Regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Janesville, held in the Municipal Building, 28 December 1992. The meeting was called to order by Council President Brien. Present: Council President Brien, Councilmembers O'Leary, Noll, Stehura, Schneider, and Thomas. Absent: Councilmember Heitzman. Councilmember Schneider led the Council in the Pledge of Allegiance. CONSENT AGENDA Minutes of the regular meeting held 14 December 1992. Minutes of the closed session held 14 December 1992. Council President Brien stated that if there were no objections, the consent agenda would be approved. There were no objections. Special recognition: A. A proposed resolution in commendation of Joseph Kuhar's service to the City of Janesville. Councilmember Stehura moved to adopt said resolution, seconded by Councilmember Schneider and passed unanimously. (File Resolution No. 92-1573) B. A proposed resolution in commendation of Frederick Merrick's service to the City of Janesville. Councilmember Schneider moved to adopt said resolution, seconded by Councilmember Stehura and passed unanimously. (File Resolution No. 92-1574) OLD BUSINESS 1. Requests and comments from the public on matters which can be affected by Council action. There were none. NEW BUSINESS 1. Appointment of election officials for 1993 and 1994. Councilmember Schneider moved to approve the appointments as submitted, seconded by Councilmember Noll and passed unanimously. 2. A proposed ordinance rezoning a portion of property located at 502 St. Lawrence Avenue from R1 to R4 was introduced, referred to the Plan Commission, and scheduled for public hearing on 25 January 1993. (File Ordinance No. 92-826) 3. Matters not on the agenda. Council President Brien presented a petition to the administration from West Court Street residents requesting a lower speed limit. The City Council agreed to a study session regarding the circuit following the 25 January 1993 regular meeting.
