RESOLUTION NO. 2005-217
A Resolution Recognizing Bill and Jackie Truman as Janesville Good Citizens
(File Resolution No. 2005-217)
WHEREAS, Bill and Jackie Truman are committed to the preservation and improvement
of Janesville's Fourth Ward and Look West neighborhoods; and
WHEREAS, Bill Truman has been an active member of the Fourth Ward Leadership
Team, chairing the neighborhood's image committee and helping to organize the
September 23-24, 2005, Fourth Ward and Look West neighborhood clean-up, which
resulted in approximately twenty-two tons of old tires and ten dumpsters of furniture and
household items being properly disposed of, beautifying and adding to the safety of the
community; and
WHEREAS, Bill and Jackie Truman have been active supporters of the Janesville
Police Department and its initiatives in the Fourth Ward and Look West Neighborhoods;
and
WHEREAS, Bill and Jackie Truman have been active participants in Look West Pride
Day, giving of their time, effort and goods to aid in the cleaning of Washington Park; and
WHEREAS, Bill and Jackie Truman have repeatedly provided support for and actively
participated in Good Neighbor Day, helping to clean and maintain Fourth Ward Park;
and
WHEREAS, the effort and dedication put forth by Bill and Jackie Truman and the
contributions they have made to the City of Janesville are in the finest tradition of "Good
Citizenship";
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED By the Common Council of the City of
Janesville, to express their appreciation to Bill and Jackie Truman for their contribution
to the City of Janesville and hereby recognize Bill and Jackie Truman as
"Janesville Good Citizens"
