A special meeting of the Janesville City Council held at the Municipal Building on October 16,
2000 at 6:30 p.m.
Council President Murphy called the meeting t,o. order. Present: Council President Murphy,
Councilmembers Schneider, Williams, Brien, O Leary (arrived 6:34 p.m.), Noll and DeGarmo.
City Manager Sheiffer reviewed with Council the pro~qosed 2001 budget revenue summary
and expen~liture summary including applied funds, subsidies and health insurance.
The City Council reviewed the following 2001 budgets: City Council, City Manager, City
Assessor, City Attorney, City Clerk-Treasurer, Finance Department, Personnel Departmen[,
Commumb/Information, Fire Department, Police Department, Planning. Code Administration,
Economic Development and Housing and Neighborhood Services (Rent Assistance and State
& Federal Grants).
During the review of the budgets, the City Council asked various questions. They requested
the A(]ministration to provide ~nformation on reducing the number of publications or pages of
the City's newsletter.
By consensus, the Council deleted from the budget the following dollar amounts:
City Council Alliance of Cities Membership $9,940.
City Council Conferences $1,300.
City Manager Portable Computer $4,000.
Matters not on the agenda. Councilmembers O'Leary and Noll reconfirmed that they would
like the rezoning of the parking lot located at the intersection of Atwood and Court placed on
the October 23, 2000 agenda.
There being no further business, the Council adjourned at 9:03 p.m.
