Special meeting of the City Council of the City of Janesville held
in the Municipal Building on May 1, 2000.
The meeting was called to order by Council President Murphy.
Present: Council President Murphy, Councilmembers Williams, Brien,
O'Leary (arrived at 7:11 p.m.) and DeGarmo. Absent: Councilmembers
Schneider and Nell.
1. Review of financial condition of the City.
City Manager Sheiffer reviewed the impact of revaluing properties
on an annual basis, the city's share of the tax levy and general
fund revenues and expenditures by category. Council discussed the
recommended expenditure reductions and revenue increases and fiscal
projections for 2001-2003.
Councilmember O'Leary asked the Administration to survey cable
franchise fees in other communities.
2. Matters not on the Agenda.
There were none.
There being no further business, Council adjourned at 8:25 p.m.
