2024-2190 RESOLUTION NO. 2024-2190
A resolution recognizing Jack L. Combs, Jr. for his employment at the City of
Janesville.
WHEREAS, Jack L. Combs, Jr. retired from City of Janesville employment after having
diligently served the people of the City of Janesville and the community for 31 years;
retiring as an Operator 2 in the Parks Division of the Public Works Department; and
WHEREAS, during Jack L. Combs, Jr.'s employment with the City of Janesville, he
provided exemplary professional service and demonstrated conscientious devotion to
the duties of his position, which he performed with skill, ability, sincerity, honesty, and
dedication; and
WHEREAS, Jack L. Combs, Jr., began his employment with the City of Janesville as a
Laborer II in the Operations/Public Works Department in August 1992; and
WHEREAS, in the course of his employment, he held several positions in the
Operations Division, including Laborer Ill, Equipment Operator I, and Sanitary
Equipment Operator, before transferring to the Parks Division for the position of
Grounds Maintenance III - later retitled Operator, Operator 1 and Operator 2; and
WHEREAS, while in the Parks Division, Jack L. Combs, Jr., was responsible for
construction projects and being a "Jack of all trades" throughout the Parks system,
having installed dozens of park playgrounds, memorial benches, and was a main
reason the CAMDEN Playground re-build project was a success; and
WHEREAS, it is desired that such commendable service to the City of Janesville be
properly recognized;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the people of the City of Janesville,
through the City Council, do express their grateful appreciation to Jack L. Combs, Jr.,
for his thirty-one years of loyal public service.
