2024-2195 RESOLUTION NO. 2024-2195
Resolution amending the City of Janesville Polling Place Plan for the Spring Primary
Election to be held only in parts of the City of Janesville.
WHEREAS, the February 20, 2024 spring primary election is only required in the voting wards
of 13,14, 16, 32, 33 and 36 representing approximately 5,700 registered voters; and
WHEREAS. the City of Janesville currently has a polling place plan of five established voting
locations in February and August and ten established voting locations in April and November;
and
WHEREAS, due to the need to serve specific wards due to a primary only located in Rock
County Supervisory Districts 22 and 27, it is not necessary to staff all five established voting
locations; and
WHEREAS, state statute requires that municipalities to establish polling places at least 30
days before the election, requiring the city council to take action at this meeting; and
WHEREAS, it is appropriate to have two polling locations open on February 20, 2024 to
adequately serve the voters in the wards requiring a primary election.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Janesville
that it hereby assigns the City wards to the following polling places for the February 20, 2024
election ONLY:
