2024-2192 RESOLUTION NO. 2024-2192
A resolution recognizing Michael J. Blaser, Jr. for his employment at the City of
Janesville.
WHEREAS, Michael J. Blaser, Jr., retired from City of Janesville employment after
having diligently served the people of the City of Janesville and the community for 24
years; retiring as a Police Lieutenant with the Janesville Police Department; and
WHEREAS, during Michael J. Blaser, Jr.'s employment with the City of Janesville, he
provided exemplary professional service and demonstrated conscientious devotion to
the duties of his position, which he performed with skill, ability, sincerity, honesty, and
dedication; and
WHEREAS, Michael J. Blaser, Jr., began his employment with the City of Janesville as
a Police Officer in January 1999; and
WHEREAS, in the course of his employment, Michael J. Blaser, Jr. had a variety of
assignments, including first, second, and third shift Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer,
Police Sergeant, and Police Lieutenant; he was a member of SWAT, Street Crimes
Unit, High-Risk Offender Team, TEMS, IFAK, ICAT, EBDM, VDI, Crisis Intervention
Team, Mercy Health Training, and Tactical Medic development; as well as being a
mentor for the Explorer Post; Michael J. Blaser, Jr., was instrumental in the
development and implementation of the Classroom Casualty Care program; and
WHEREAS, Michael J. Blaser, Jr., was awarded the Meritorious Service Citation 2006,
the Award of Excellence 2014, and the Exemplary Service Citation 2016; and
WHEREAS, it is desired that such commendable service to the City of Janesville be
properly recognized;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the people of the City of Janesville,
through the City Council, do express their grateful appreciation to Michael J. Blaser, Jr.,
for his twenty-four years of loyal public service.
