2024-2187 RESOLUTION NO. 2024-2187
A resolution recognizing Todd R. Kleisner for his employment at the City of
Janesville.
WHEREAS, Todd R. Kleisner retired from City of Janesville employment after having
diligently served the people of the City of Janesville and the community for more than
32 years; retiring as a Deputy Police Chief with the Janesville Police Department; and
WHEREAS, during Todd R. Kleisner's employment with the City of Janesville, he
provided exemplary professional service and demonstrated conscientious devotion to
the duties of his position, which he performed with skill, ability, sincerity, honesty, and
dedication; and
WHEREAS, Todd R. Kleisner began his employment with the City of Janesville as a
Police Officer in August 1991; and
WHEREAS, in the course of his employment, Todd R. Kleisner had a variety of
assignments, including first and second shift Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, Police
Sergeant, Police Lieutenant, and Deputy Police Chief; in addition, he was a traffic radar
and laser instructor, and EVOC instructor; he managed the Department's vehicle fleet
including technology (laptops, printers and hotspots) and acted as Chair for the Safety
Committee; he was instrumental in the development of the Fourth Ward Project
including Operation Porch Light and Neighborhood Block Parties; and was a graduate
of Northwestern University's School of Police Staff and Command in 2012; and
WHEREAS, Todd R. Kleisner was awarded the Chiefs Commendation in 2011, the
Meritorious Service Citation in 2011, and the Award of Excellence in 2015 and 2022;
and
WHEREAS, it is desired that such commendable service to the City of Janesville be
properly recognized;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the people of the City of Janesville,
through the City Council, do express their grateful appreciation to Todd R. Kleisner for
his more than thirty-two years of loyal public service.
