2023-2130 RESOLUTION NO. 2023-2130
A resolution recognizing Craig S. Klementz for his employment at the City of
Janesville.
WHEREAS, Craig S. Klementz retired from City of Janesville employment after having
diligently served the people of the City of Janesville and the community for 29 years;
retiring as a Police School Liaison Officer with the Janesville Police Department; and
WHEREAS, during Craig S. Klementz' employment with the City of Janesville, he
provided exemplary professional service and demonstrated conscientious devotion to
the duties of his position, which he performed with skill, ability, sincerity, honesty, and
dedication; and
WHEREAS, Craig S. Klementz began his employment with the City of Janesville as a
Police Officer in September 1993; and
WHEREAS, in the course of his employment, he had a variety of assignments, including
first, second and third shift Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, Range Officer, Police
Sergeant, Police School Liaison Officer, Bicycle Officer, and Motorcycle Officer; and he
was a member of the SWAT, Peer Support and Crisis Intervention Teams and Dynamic
Police Training Group, and Homeless Outreach Committee; and
WHEREAS, Craig S. Klementz was awarded the Police Officer of Year in 2017, and
received an Exemplary Service Citation in 2017, a Problem Oriented Policing Award in
2017, the Mighty Oak Award in March 2018, and an Exemplary Service Citation in 2023;
and
WHEREAS, it is desired that such commendable service to the City of Janesville be
properly recognized;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the people of the City of Janesville,
through the City Council, do express their grateful appreciation to Craig S. Klementz for
his twenty-nine years of loyal public service.
