2023-2097 RESOLUTION NO. 2023-2097
A resolution recognizing William H. Scherer III for his employment at the City of
Janesville.
WHEREAS, William H. Scherer III retired from City of Janesville employment after
having diligently served the people of the City of Janesville and the community for 12
years, retiring as the Ice Arena Manager with the Recreation Division; and
WHEREAS, during William H. Scherer III's employment with the City of Janesville, he
provided exemplary professional service and demonstrated conscientious devotion to
the duties of his position, which he performed with skill, ability, sincerity, honesty, and
dedication; and
WHEREAS, William H. Scherer Ill began his employment with the City of Janesville as
a seasonal employee in May 2002 and was hired full-time as the Ice Arena Manager in
July 2010; and
WHEREAS, William H. Scherer III held the position of Ice Arena Manager for his entire
career; and
WHEREAS, William H. Scherer III additionally supervised Dawson Softball Complex
and adult softball leagues; and
WHEREAS, William H. Scherer III made thousands of ice makes, scheduled thousands
of hours of ice time, and worked diligently with various Ice Arena user groups and
patrons; and
WHEREAS, it is desired that such commendable service to the City of Janesville be
properly recognized.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the people of the City of Janesville,
through the City Council, do express their grateful appreciation to William H. Scherer III
for his 22 years of loyal public service.
