A Resolution establishing a Relocation Order for the Wisconsin Department of
Transportation Center Avenue (USH 51) Reconditioning Project
WHEREAS, to properly establish, layout, widen, construct, reconstruct, improve, replace, or
maintain a portion of the street herein described, it is necessary to acquire certain lands or
interests in lands, as shown on the attached Transportation Project Plat (TPP) and Acquisition
Exhibits 1 through 10 dated February 23, 2023, City of Janesville, Rock County; and
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Janesville recognizes the need to implement the
recommended improvements on Center Avenue (USH 51)from Nicolet Street to Van Buren Street
to implement the project improvements and improve pedestrian accommodations; and
WHEREAS, the City of Janesville shall acquire certain lands and interests herein as shown on
the attached TPP and Acquisition Exhibits 1 through 10 dated February 23, 2023, as provided by
Chapter 32, Wisconsin State Statutes; and
WHEREAS, the termini of the Center Avenue project is more particularly described as follows:
Begin Project Termini: 659.00 feet North 00°51'02" West from the Southwest corner of
Section 1, Township 2 North, Range 12 East, measured along the West line of said
section in the City of Janesville, Rock County, Wisconsin.
End Project Termini: 293.66 feet South 02°15'08" East from the West corner of Section 36,
Township 3 North, Range 12 East, measured along the West line of said section in the City
of Janesville, Rock County, Wisconsin.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Janesville,
pursuant to authority granted under Section 62.22, and other applicable Wisconsin Statutes,
hereby authorizes this Relocation Order and directs the City Manager to file a copy of this
Resolution with the County Clerk of Rock County, Wisconsin on behalf of the City.
1. The said local street is laid out and established to the lines and widths as shown on the
Transportation Project Plat (TPP) and the Acquisition Exhibits;
2. The required lands or interests in lands as shown on the TPP and Acquisition Exhibits
shall be acquired by the City of Janesville; and
3. This order supersedes and amends any previous order issued by the City of Janesville,
Wisconsin.
