2023-2083 RESOLUTION NO. 2023-2083
A resolution recognizing Steven E. Williams for his employment at the City of
Janesville.
WHEREAS, Steven E. Williams retired from City of Janesville employment after having
diligently served the people of the City of Janesville and the community for 29 years;
retiring as a Detective with the Janesville Police Department; and
WHEREAS, during Steven E. Williams' employment with the City of Janesville, he
provided exemplary professional service and demonstrated conscientious devotion to
the duties of his position, which he performed with skill, ability, sincerity, honesty, and
dedication; and
WHEREAS, Steven E. Williams began his employment with the City of Janesville as a
Police Officer in January 1994; and
WHEREAS, in the course of his employment, he had a variety of assignments, including
first, second and third shift Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, Less Lethal Munitions
Instructor, SWAT Member, and Detective; and he was a member of the General Order,
Commendation, Safety and City Health Advisory Committees; and
WHEREAS, Steven E. Williams received the Meritorious Service Citation in 1998 and
the Police Officer of Year award in 1998; and
WHEREAS, it is desired that such commendable service to the City of Janesville be
properly recognized;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the people of the City of Janesville,
through the City Council, do express their grateful appreciation to Steven E. Williams for
his twenty-nine years of loyal public service.
