2023-2081 RESOLUTION NO. 2023-2081
A resolution recognizing Dean C. Sukus, Jr., for his employment at the City of
Janesville.
WHEREAS, Dean C. Sukus, Jr., retired from City of Janesville employment after having
diligently served the people of the City of Janesville and the community for 29 years;
retiring as a Police Sergeant with the Janesville Police Department; and
WHEREAS, during Dean C. Sukus, Jr.'s employment with the City of Janesville, he
provided exemplary professional service and demonstrated conscientious devotion to
the duties of his position, which he performed with skill, ability, sincerity, honesty, and
dedication; and
WHEREAS, Dean C. Sukus, Jr., began his employment with the City of Janesville as a
Police Officer in January 1994; and
WHEREAS, in the course of his employment, he had a variety of assignments, including
first, second and third shift Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, SFST Instructor, first,
second and third shift Patrol Sergeant, Honor Guard, Mobile Field Force, K-9 Program
Supervisor, Taser Program Lead Supervisor, and he was a member of the Safety
Committee; and
WHEREAS, Dean C. Sukus, Jr., received a Letter of Commendation in 1995, a Chiefs
commendation in 2020, and he received the Award of Excellence in 2017 and 2021;
and
WHEREAS, it is desired that such commendable service to the City of Janesville be
properly recognized;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the people of the City of Janesville,
through the City Council, do express their grateful appreciation to Dean C. Sukus, Jr.,
for his twenty-nine years of loyal public service.
