2023-2072 RESOLUTION NO. 2023-2072
A resolution recognizing Erin J. Briggs for his employment at the City of Janesville.
WHEREAS, Erin J. Briggs retired from City of Janesville employment after having diligently
served the people of the City of Janesville and the community for 24 years; retiring as a Police
Officer with the Janesville Police Department; and
WHEREAS, during Erin J. Briggs' employment with the City of Janesville, he provided
exemplary professional service and demonstrated conscientious devotion to the duties of his
position, which he performed with skill, ability, sincerity, honesty, and dedication; and
WHEREAS, Erin J. Briggs began his employment with the City of Janesville as a Police Officer
in January 1998; and
WHEREAS, in the course of his employment, he had a variety of assignments, including first,
second, and third shift Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, Bicycle Officer, Crisis Negotiator,
and Domestic Violence Intervention (DVI) Team, and he was a member of the Squad Car
Design Committee and Commendation Committee; and
WHEREAS, Erin J. Briggs received a Chief's Commendation in 2018; and
WHEREAS, it is desired that such commendable service to the City of Janesville be properly
recognized;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the people of the City of Janesville, through the
City Council, do express their grateful appreciation to Erin J. Briggs for his twenty-four years of
loyal public service.
