2022-2053 RESOLUTION NO. 2022-2053
A resolution to release an 8-foot utility easement and 10-foot utility easement across
property located at 2412 Oakbrook Court.
WHEREAS, an 8-foot utility easement was originally conveyed in 2003 on the north side of
Lot 57 of the Sherwood Hills North Second Addition plat as recorded in Volume 32, Pages
604-605 of Plat, Rock County, Wisconsin; and
WHEREAS, a 10-foot utility easement was originally conveyed in 2002 along the south side
of Lot 4 of Certified Survey Map Document No. 1546935 as recorded in Volume 25, Pages
191-194 of Certified Survey Maps of Rock County, Wisconsin; and
WHEREAS, the owner of property containing said easements requests that the City release
its rights and interest in the easement areas to allow for the construction of a shed; and
WHEREAS, there are no existing public utilities located within said easements; and
WHEREAS, the Plan Commission reviewed and found the proposed release and relocation
of said utility easements to be consistent with city plans; and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds the release of existing easements consistent with the
public interest.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
JANESVILLE that the City of Janesville hereby releases to the following described
easement:
Located in the SW'/4 of the SW'/4 of Section 23, T.3N., R.12E. of the 4th P.M. of the
City of Janesville, Rock County, Wisconsin described as follows:
The north 8 feet of Lot 57, Sherwood Hills North Second Addition, City of Janesville,
Rock County, Wisconsin, excepting therefrom the east 10 feet thereof and further
excepting the west 10 feet thereof; also
The South 10 feet of Lot 1 of a certified survey map recorded in Volume 27, Pages
35 thru 37 of Certified Survey Maps of Rock County, Wisconsin, as Document No.
1652366 and located in the SW '/4 of the SW '/4 of Section 23, T.3N., R.12E. of the
4th P.M., City of Janesville, Rock County, Wisconsin (said easement being created
by Document No. 1546935) excepting the east 10 feet thereof and further excepting
the west 8 feet thereof.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said easement release by the City of Janesville does
not relinquish any inherent rights that other utility companies serving the area may have to
use said easement.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that upon adoption of this resolution, the City Clerk is
directed to record a certified copy of this resolution with the Register of Deeds of Rock
County, Wisconsin, thus granting the easement release as herein described.
