2022-2040 RESOLUTION NO. 2022 - 2040
A resolution recognizing Gordon J. LaChance for his employment at the City of
Janesville.
WHEREAS, Gordon J. LaChance retired from City of Janesville employment after
having diligently served the people of the City of Janesville and the community for more
than 21 years; and
WHEREAS, during Gordon J. LaChance's employment with the City of Janesville, he
provided exemplary professional service and demonstrated conscientious devotion to
the duties of his position, which he performed with skill, ability, sincerity, honesty, and
dedication; and
WHEREAS, Gordon J. LaChance began his employment with the City of Janesville as
an Information Technology (IT) Specialist in November 2000; and
WHEREAS, Gordon J. LaChance was promoted to IT Manager in October 2006; and
WHEREAS, throughout his employment with the City of Janesville, Gordon J.
LaChance continued to excel in all things IT-related, attending seminars and
conferences to increase his knowledge of the most current applications, new methods,
and security of IT systems; and
WHEREAS, Gordon J. LaChance continued to protect the City's web-based
communications and IT systems and led the IT Team through staffing challenges in an
age of increased IT threats; and
WHEREAS, Gordon J. LaChance was named the Finance and Administration Division
employee of the year in 2005 and was named the Lead Paddler in May 2022; and
WHEREAS, it is desired that such commendable service to the City of Janesville be
properly recognized;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the people of the City of Janesville,
through the City Council, do express their grateful appreciation to Gordon J. LaChance
for his more than 21 years of loyal public service.
