2022-2048 RESOLUTION NO. 2022-2048
A resolution authorizing a General Fund supplemental budget appropriation for calendar
year 2022 for fuel and contingency.
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Janesville adopted a fuel budget totaling
$1,417,669 for calendar year 2022; and
WHEREAS, such budget is expected to be exceeded by $138,500 due to the increase in fuel
prices in 2022; and
WHEREAS, the General Fund supplemental budget appropriation is an amount not to exceed
three million, two hundred and eleven thousand dollars ($3,211,000) for the following items; and

WHEREAS, this General Fund supplemental budget appropriation is designed to remain just
under the City's Expenditure Restraint Program (ERP) limit for 2022 and maximize the City's
budgetary increase applicable to the ERP limit for 2023; and
WHEREAS, this General Fund supplemental budget appropriation is projected to increase the
City's ERP limit by $288,810 for 2023.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council of the City of Janesville finds
that it is in the best interest of the City of Janesville to provide for and authorize a General Fund
supplemental budget appropriation for calendar year 2022 for fuel costs and contingency; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Janesville that it hereby
authorizes a supplemental budget appropriation from the General Fund Undesignated Balance to
be made in an amount not to exceed three million, two hundred and eleven thousand dollars
($3,211,000) for calendar year 2022 for fuel costs and contingency.
