An ordinance annexing territory located in Section 8, T.3N., R.13E. of the 4th P.M.,
Harmony Township, Rock County, Wisconsin.
WHEREAS, a unanimous consent annexation petition under s.66.0217(2), Wis. Stats. signed by
the owners of the land within such territory proposed to be annexed has been filed with the City
Clerk-Treasurer; and
WHEREAS, there are two electors residing in the territory; and
WHEREAS, the necessary notices have been duly prepared, provided and served as required
by law to all persons affected; and
WHEREAS, this ordinance does not contain temporary zoning; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Administration has not found the proposed annexation to be
against the public interest; and
WHEREAS, the Common Council has determined that this annexation is in the public interest.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JANESVILLE DO ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The territory described as follows is hereby attached to the City of Janesville.
PART OF THE NE % OF THE SW '/4 AND PART OF THE NW ' OF THE SE ' OF SECTION
8, T.3N., R13E. OF THE 4T" P.M., TOWN OF HARMONY, ROCK COUNTY, WISCONSIN.
DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS: COMMENCING AT A STONE MONUMENT AT THE EAST '
CORNER OF SAID SECTION; THENCE N88°19'25"W ALONG THE EAST-WEST
CENTERLINE OF SAID SECTION, 2645.27 FEET TO A STONE MONUMENT AT THE
CENTER OF SAID SECTION, ALSO BEING AT THE PLACE OF BEGINNING FOR THE LAND
TO BE HEREIN DESCRIBED; THENCE S88°19'25"E ALONG SAID EAST-WEST
CENTERLINE OF SAID SECTION 105.90 FEET TO AN IRON PIN; THENCE S37°51'06"E
274.89 FEET TO FORMER NORTH LINE OF STATE ROAD 26, AS ESTABLISHED ON HWY
PROJECT T 010-1(20) IN 1961; THENCE S53°36'53"W ALONG SAID NORTH LINE 192.09
FEET; THENCE N36°48'30"W 25.52 FEET TO THE RELOCATED NORTH LINE OF STATE
ROAD 26, AS ESTABLISHED ON DOCUMENT NO.1915785; THENCE N53°07'18"E ALONG
SAID RELOCATED NORTH LINE 83.60 FEET TO AN IRON PIN; THENCE N36°48'30"W
327.89 FEET TO AN IRON PIPE AT THE NW CORNER OF A PARCEL DESCRIBED ON
DOC.NO.2211962; THENCE N87°43'54"E 25.0 FEET TO THE PLACE OF BEGINNING.
SECTION II. After this annexation becomes effective, the above-described property shall be
exempt from and not subject to further taxation and assessments in the Town of Harmony and
thence forth shall be subject to taxation and assessment as part of the City of Janesville for any
and all purpose provided by law.
SECTION III. All the territory attached by this ordinance is hereby made part of Ward 32 of the
City of Janesville.

SECTION IV. There are two residents in the area proposed for annexation.
SECTION V. The annexation is within the Milton School District.
SECTION VI. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon adoption by the Common
Council, the public health, welfare, peace, tranquility, good order, public benefit, and police
power so requiring.
