2022-1999 RESOLUTION NO. 2022-1999
A resolution recognizing Susan Johnson for her loyal and conscientious service to the
City of Janesville as a City Councilmember.
WHEREAS, Susan Johnson served the City of Janesville from 2020 to 2022 as a member of the City
Council; and
WHEREAS, during her term in office, Ms. Johnson served as a member of the Hedberg Public
Library Board of Directors, the Janesville Metropolitan Planning Organization Policy Board, the Parks
and Recreation Advisory Committee, and the Sustainable Janesville Committee; and
WHEREAS, during her term, the City Council accomplished many achievements, including the
development of affordable, market-rate, and high-end housing stock; completion of the West
Milwaukee Street reconstruction project; the increase in public safety through the replacement of
private side lead laterals throughout the City of Janesville and the purchase and staffing of a fifth
ambulance for Fire Station #3; and navigating the concerns and uncertainties of the COVID-19
pandemic; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Johnson's enthusiasm, concern, and compassion for the community and its citizens
characterized her tenure in office throughout and is evidenced by her work to make the City of
Janesville the Community of Choice; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Johnson performed the duties of a member of the City Council with an exemplary
level of dedication, honesty, and integrity.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Janesville presents this
commendation to Susan Johnson in sincere appreciation for her loyal and conscientious service to
the City of Janesville.
