2022-1956 RESOLUTION NO. 2022-1956
A resolution recognizing Brian S. Vaughn for his employment at the City of
Janesville.
WHEREAS, Brian S. Vaughn retired from City of Janesville employment after having
diligently served the people of the City of Janesville and the community for 28 years;
retiring as a Police Sergeant with the Janesville Police Department; and
WHEREAS, during Brian S. Vaughn's employment with the City of Janesville, he
provided exemplary professional service and demonstrated conscientious devotion to
the duties of his position, which he performed with skill, ability, sincerity, honesty, and
dedication; and
WHEREAS, Brian S. Vaughn began his employment with the City of Janesville as a
Police Officer in January 1994; and
WHEREAS, in the course of his employment, he had a variety of assignments, including
first and second shift Patrol Officer, Special Operations Unit, State Line Area Narcotics
Team, Bicycle Officer, SWAT Team, Field Training Officer, Domestic Violence
Intervention, and Accreditation Manager; and
WHEREAS, he was promoted to Police Sergeant, supervised first, second, and third
shifts, served on the board for the Wisconsin Law Enforcement Executive Development
Association, and served on other various Department and City Committees; and
WHEREAS, Brian S. Vaughn was recognized as the recipient of the Mighty Oak in
March 2020, received the Award of Excellence for 2017, and received the Meritorious
Service Citation for 2020; and
WHEREAS, it is desired that such commendable service to the City of Janesville be
properly recognized.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the people of the City of Janesville,
through the City Council, do express their grateful appreciation to Brian S. Vaughn for
his twenty-eight years of loyal public service.
