2022-1972 RESOLUTION NO. 2022-1972
A resolution recognizing William T. Ruchti for his employment
at the City of Janesville.
WHEREAS, William T. Ruchti retired from City of Janesville employment after having
diligently served the people of the City of Janesville and the community for more than
30 years; retiring as a Deputy Fire Chief with the Janesville Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, during William T. Ruchti's employment with the City of Janesville, he
provided exemplary professional service and demonstrated conscientious devotion to
the duties of his position, which he performed with skill, ability, sincerity, honesty, and
dedication; and
WHEREAS, William T. Ruchti began his employment with the City of Janesville as a
Firefighter/Paramedic in October 1991; and
WHEREAS, in the course of his employment, he had a variety of assignments, including
Firefighter/Paramedic, Ambulance Paramedic, Engine Paramedic, Driver, Preceptor,
Shift Recruit Trainer, Acting Lieutenant, Fire Captain, Shift Commander, and Deputy
Fire Chief; and
WHEREAS, William T. Ruchti served on various Department Special Teams and
Committees, including Hazardous Material Response Team, Dive Rescue Team,
Technical Rescue Team, Training Committee, Safety Committee, Equipment
Committee, Policy Committee, HazMat Advisory Committee, Blackhawk Technical
College Advisory Committee, and Rock County Communication Center 911 Work Group
Committee; and
WHEREAS, William T. Ruchti was a member of the Wisconsin Fire Service Instructors,
Rock County Fire Officers, and Wisconsin State Fire Chiefs; and
WHEREAS, William T. Ruchti was recognized as the Fire Department's employee of
the year in 2002; and
WHEREAS, it is desired that such commendable service to the City of Janesville be
properly recognized.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the people of the City of Janesville,
through the City Council, do express their grateful appreciation to William T. Ruchti for
his more than thirty years of loyal public service.
