2022-1955 RESOLUTION NO. 2022-1955 A resolution recognizing Terrence E. Sheridan for his employment at the City of Janesville. WHEREAS, Terrence E. Sheridan retired from City of Janesville employment after having diligently served the people of the City of Janesville and the community for more than 30 years; retiring as a Deputy Police Chief with the Janesville Police Department; and WHEREAS, during Terrence E. Sheridan's employment with the City of Janesville, he provided exemplary professional service and demonstrated conscientious devotion to the duties of his position, which he performed with skill, ability, sincerity, honesty, and dedication; and WHEREAS, Terrence E. Sheridan began his employment with the City of Janesville as a Police Officer in January 1992; and WHEREAS, in the course of his employment, he had a variety of assignments, including Patrol Officer, Special Operations Unit, Bike Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, SWAT Negotiator, Department's First Certified Forensic Sketch Artist, and Field Training Coordinator; over the course of his 30 years, he was promoted to Identification Officer, Police Sergeant, Police Lieutenant (Patrol and Investigations Division), and Deputy Police Chief; and also served on various Department and City Committees; and WHEREAS, Terrence E. Sheridan was recognized as the recipient of the Award of Excellence in 2013, recognized for Outstanding Leadership during the Trump Rally in 2016, recipient of the Lead Paddler Award in 2019, and recognized for Outstanding Leadership during COVID-19 in 2020 and 2021; and WHEREAS, it is desired that such commendable service to the City of Janesville be properly recognized. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the people of the City of Janesville, through the City Council, do express their grateful appreciation to Terrence E. Sheridan for his more than thirty years of loyal public service. Dated this 10th day of January, 2022.
