2022-1946 RESOLUTION NO. 2022-1946
A resolution recognizing Mary A. Flavin for her employment at the City of Janesville.
WHEREAS, Mary A. Flavin retired from City of Janesville employment after having
diligently served the people of the City of Janesville and the community for more than
32 years; retiring as an Ambulance Paramedic with the Janesville Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, during Mary A. Flavin's employment with the City of Janesville, she
provided exemplary professional service and demonstrated conscientious devotion to
the duties of her position, which she performed with skill, ability, sincerity, honesty, and
dedication; and
WHEREAS, Mary A. Flavin began her employment with the City of Janesville as a Clerk
Typist with the Fire Department in April 1989, and was later reclassified as a
firefighter/paramedic in March 1997; and
WHEREAS, in the course of her employment, she held several positions including
Firefighter/Paramedic, Driver/MPO, Acting Lieutenant, and Paramedic Preceptor; and
also served on the Fire Department's PEER Support Team; and
WHEREAS, Mary A. Flavin served on the EMS Committee; and
WHEREAS, Mary A. Flavin was recognized as the 1996 Division Employee of the Year
and 2010 VFW Paramedic of the year; and
WHEREAS, it is desired that such commendable service to the City of Janesville be
properly recognized.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the people of the City of Janesville,
through the City Council, do express their grateful appreciation to Mary A. Flavin for her
more than thirty-two years of loyal public service.
