2022-1948 RESOLUTION NO. 2022-1948
A resolution recognizing Jeffrey A. Jacoby for his employment at the City of Janesville.
WHEREAS, Jeffrey A. Jacoby retired from City of Janesville employment after having
diligently served the people of the City of Janesville and the community for more than
30 years; retiring as an Identification Officer with the Janesville Police Department; and
WHEREAS, during Jeffrey A. Jacoby's employment with the City of Janesville, he
provided exemplary professional service and demonstrated conscientious devotion to
the duties of his position, which he performed with skill, ability, sincerity, honesty, and
dedication; and
WHEREAS, Jeffrey A. Jacoby began his employment with the City of Janesville as a
Police Officer in August 1991; and
WHEREAS, in the course of his employment, he had a variety of assignments, including
first, second and third shift Patrol Officer, Bike Patrol Officer, DARE Officer, School
Resource Officer, and Identification Officer; and
WHEREAS, Jeffrey A. Jacoby received a letter of appreciation in 2001 for lifesaving
efforts performing CPR on an infant having a medical emergency, he received a letter of
commendation in 2012 from the Rock County Coroner for his effort and assistance
during a death investigation, and he received a Chief's commendation in 2021 for
outstanding work identifying and collecting evidence relating to an arson investigation;
and
WHEREAS, it is desired that such commendable service to the City of Janesville be
properly recognized.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the people of the City of Janesville,
through the City Council, do express their grateful appreciation to Jeffery A. Jacoby for
his more than thirty years of loyal public service.
