2022-1954 RESOLUTION NO. 2022-1954
A resolution recognizing Susan A. Musick for her employment at the City of Janesville.
WHEREAS, Susan A. Musick retired from City of Janesville employment after having
diligently served the people of the City of Janesville and the community for more than
33 years; retiring as the Human Resources Director for the City of Janesville; and
WHEREAS, Susan A. Musick began her employment with the City of Janesville in July
1988 as the Personnel Director; and
WHEREAS, during Susan A. Musick's employment with the City of Janesville, she
provided exemplary professional service and demonstrated conscientious devotion to
the duties of her position, which she performed with skill, ability, sincerity, honesty, and
dedication; and
WHEREAS, Susan A. Musick provided valuable advice, guidance, and
recommendations on all matters related to the Human Resource functions of the City,
including salaries and benefits, labor relations, recruitment efforts, trainings and
professional development, risk management, and employee relations; and
WHEREAS, Susan A. Musick has been a vital and very valuable member of the
Administrative Team for the City of Janesville throughout her employment; and
WHEREAS, Susan A. Musick served as a member on numerous Committees; and
WHEREAS, Susan A. Musick consistently made it her career priority to implement the
goals and policies of the Common Council and City Administration; and for over 33
years, sincerely, appropriately, and successfully addressed the varied needs and
requests for assistance of thousands of City employees, their spouses, and
dependents; and
WHEREAS, Susan A. Musick streamlined and implemented numerous Human
Resources and other organization-wide processes, training, and procedures; and has
served on special committees focused on process improvement; and
WHEREAS, Susan A. Musick routinely went above and beyond in time and effort,
blossoming the Human Resources Office into an ever transforming influence, and
earning the respect of all City staff members for her vigorous selfless service,
collegiality, professionalism, acuity, profundity, balance, and hard work; and
WHEREAS, she leaves behind an indelible legacy of kindness, graciousness,
enthusiasm, and sincere concern that has enriched those fortunate enough to know and
work with her; and
WHEREAS, it is desired that such commendable service to the City of Janesville be
properly recognized.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the people of the City of Janesville,
through the City Council, do express their grateful appreciation to Susan A. Musick for
her more than thirty-three years of loyal public service.
