2021-1957 Resolution No. 2021-1957 A resolution approving a proposed tentative 2022 Labor Agreement By and Between the City of Janesville and Janesville Professional Police Association Local Number 32 WHEREAS, the City of Janesville, Wisconsin, is a home-rule city incorporated under and operating under the Constitution and laws of the State of Wisconsin, Chapter 64 of the Wisconsin Statutes, and a certain Charter Ordinance specific for Janesville; and WHEREAS, the City of Janesville is a collective bargaining city and unit of government under Chapter 111.70, Subchapter IV, of the Wisconsin Statutes; and WHEREAS, the existing and operative 2019-2021 Labor Agreement between the City of Janesville and Janesville Professional Police Association (JPPA) Local Number 32 expires on December 31, 2021; and WHEREAS, the City and JPPA Local Number 32 have been engaged in the good faith collective bargaining process for a successor Labor Agreement; and WHEREAS, the City and JPPA Local Number 32 have reached a tentative agreement to the terms of a successor 2022 Labor Agreement, a true and correct photocopy of which is attached hereto, reiterated, and incorporated herein by reference as if fully set forth verbatim [with the changes between the two agreements highlighted]. The City was notified of the JPPA Local Number 32 membership's ratification on Thursday, December 2, 2021; and WHEREAS, the proposed tentative successor agreement is recommended by the City Administration for Common Council approval, which Council finds in the City's best interests and of benefit to the community and taxpayers. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Janesville that the attached, proposed, tentative 2022 Labor Agreement By and Between the City of Janesville and JPPA Local Number 32 is hereby approved; and further direct the City Administration to execute same and implement the Agreement's terms, conditions, and provisions on behalf of the City of Janesville and the Common Council.
