2021-1941 RESOLUTION NO. 2021-1941
A resolution recognizing Michael Vickers for his employment at the City of Janesville.
WHEREAS, Michael Vickers retired from City of Janesville employment after having diligently
served the people of the City of Janesville and the community for more than 24 years; retiring as
a Fire Lieutenant with the Janesville Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, during Michael Vickers' employment with the City of Janesville, he provided
exemplary professional service and demonstrated conscientious devotion to the duties of his
position, which he performed with skill, ability, sincerity, honesty, and dedication; and
WHEREAS, Michael Vickers began his employment with the City of Janesville as a
Firefighter/Paramedic in April 1997; and
WHEREAS, in the course of his employment, he held several positions, including
Firefighter/Paramedic, Paramedic Preceptor and Driver Operator; and also served on the Fire
Department's Dive, Hazmat, Swiftwater Rescue, and Peer Support Teams; and
WHEREAS, Michael Vickers served for 13 years as the Department Dive Team Leader where
he tirelessly worked to train, procure grant funds, and continually advance the team's
capabilities; and
WHEREAS, Michael Vickers was recognized as the 2007 VFW Paramedic of the year; and
WHEREAS, it is desired that such commendable service to the City of Janesville be properly
recognized.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the people of the City of Janesville, through the
City Council, do express their grateful appreciation to Michael Vickers for his more than 24
years of loyal public service.
