2021-1916 RESOLUTION NO. 2021-1916
A resolution recognizing Randy Westby for his employment at the City of Janesville.
WHEREAS, Randy Westby retired from City of Janesville employment after having
diligently served the people of the City of Janesville and the community for more than
39 years; retiring as a Crew Leader in the Water Division; and
WHEREAS, during Randy Westby's employment with the City of Janesville, he provided
exemplary professional service; and
WHEREAS, Randy Westby demonstrated a commitment to the Janesville Water Utility
and conscientious devotion to the duties of his position, which he performed with skill,
ability, sincerity, honesty, and dedication; and
WHEREAS, Randy Westby began his employment with the City of Janesville as a
Laborer I with the Water Division in February, 1982; and
WHEREAS, in the course of his employment, he held several positions and titles
including Waterworks Operator I, Waterworks Operator II, Waterworks Operator
Leadperson, Working Foreman, and Crew Leader; and
WHEREAS, Randy Westby was the Employee of the Year for Public Works — Water
Utility in 1997 and was the recipient of the Mighty Oak Award for Public Works in
September 2020; and
WHEREAS, it is desired that such commendable service to the City of Janesville be
properly recognized.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the people of the City of Janesville,
through the City Council, do express their grateful appreciation to Randy Westby for his
more than thirty-nine years of loyal public service.
