2021-1917 RESOLUTION NO. 2021-1917
A resolution recognizing Thomas Brunner for his employment at the City of Janesville.
WHEREAS, Thomas Brunner retired from City of Janesville employment after having
diligently served the people of the City of Janesville and the community for more than
31 years; retiring as a Fire Captain with the Janesville Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, during Thomas Brunner's employment with the City of Janesville, he
provided exemplary professional service and demonstrated conscientious devotion to
the duties of his position, which he performed with skill, ability, sincerity, honesty, and
dedication; and
WHEREAS, Thomas Brunner began his employment with the City of Janesville as an
Administrative Aide in the Community Development Department in April 1990, and then
began his tenure with the City of Janesville Fire Department as a firefighter/paramedic
in June 1993; and
WHEREAS, in the course of his employment with the Fire Department, he held several
positions including Firefighter/Paramedic, Paramedic Preceptor, Recruit Trainer, Engine
Paramedic, Driver Operator, Fire Lieutenant, Fire Officer Preceptor, and Fire Captain;
he also served on the Fire Department's Tactical EMS and COVID Safety Teams, and
was a member of the Department's Safety, Clothing, and EMS Committees; and
WHEREAS, Thomas Brunner received the VFW Paramedic of the Year Award in 2002
and 2015, and was also a valued liaison between the Mercy EMS Training Center and
the Fire Department; and
WHEREAS, it is desired that such commendable service to the City of Janesville be
properly recognized.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the people of the City of Janesville,
through the City Council, do express their grateful appreciation to Thomas Brunner for
his more than thirty-one years of loyal public service.
