2021-1908 RESOLUTION NO. 2021 — 1908
A resolution recognizing Mark Standish for his employment at the City of Janesville.
WHEREAS, Mark Standish retired from City of Janesville employment after having diligently
served the people of the City of Janesville and the community for more than twenty-six
years; retiring as a Police Officer with the Janesville Police Department; and
WHEREAS, during Mark Standish's employment with the City of Janesville, he provided
exemplary professional service and demonstrated conscientious devotion to the duties of
his position, which he performed with skill, ability, sincerity, honesty, and dedication; and
WHEREAS, Mark Standish began his employment with the City of Janesville as a Police
Officer in January, 1995; and
WHEREAS, in the course of his employment, he held a number of positions including Patrol
Officer — first and second shift, Motorcycle Officer, Shooting Range Officer, and Range
Coordinator and was a member of the SWAT Team and Special Operations Unit; he also
served on the Department's General Order Committee; and
WHEREAS, Mark Standish received the Meritorious Service Award for the apprehension of
a homicide suspect and the Chief's Commendation for arresting three robbery suspects;
and
WHEREAS, it is desired that such commendable service to the City of Janesville be
properly recognized;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the people of the City of Janesville, through
the City Council, do express their grateful appreciation to Mark Standish for his more than
twenty-six years of loyal public service.
