2021-1909 RESOLUTION NO. 2021 — 1909
A resolution recognizing Edward Van Fossen for his employment at the City of
Janesville.
WHEREAS, Edward Van Fossen retired from City of Janesville employment after having
diligently served the people of the City of Janesville and the community for more than
twenty-nine years; retiring as an Identification Officer with the Janesville Police Department;
and
WHEREAS, during Edward Van Fossen's employment with the City of Janesville, he
provided exemplary professional service and demonstrated conscientious devotion to the
duties of his position, which he performed with skill, ability, sincerity, honesty, and
dedication; and
WHEREAS, Edward Van Fossen began his employment with the City of Janesville as a
Police Officer in January, 1992; and
WHEREAS, in the course of his employment, he held a number of positions including Patrol
Officer — first and second shift, Range Officer, and Identification Officer and was a member
of the Mobile Field Force Team; he also served on the Department's General Order
Committee; and
WHEREAS, Edward Van Fossen was the 2006 Police Officer of the Year and received a
Chief's Commendation in 2019; and
WHEREAS, it is desired that such commendable service to the City of Janesville be
properly recognized;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the people of the City of Janesville, through
the City Council, do express their grateful appreciation to Edward Van Fossen for his more
than twenty-nine years of loyal public service.
