2021-1885 FILE RESOLUTION NO. 2021 — 1885
WHEREAS, Guynith Thompson is retiring from City of Janesville employment after having
diligently served the people of the City of Janesville and the community for more than thirty-one
years; retiring as a Public Services Assistant II at the Hedberg Public Library; and
WHEREAS, during Guynith Thompson's employment with the City of Janesville, she provided
consistently professional service and demonstrated conscientious devotion to the duties of her
position, which she performed with skill and ability, sincerity, honesty, and dedication; and
WHEREAS, Guynith Thompson began her employment with the City of Janesville at the Hedberg
Public Library in October 1989; and
WHEREAS, Guynith Thompson was involved in different assignments during her tenure at the
Hedberg Public Library including Information Services Assistant, Reference Assistant, and Public
Services Assistant II; and she served on the Customer Service Committee and was voter
registration certified; and
WHEREAS, Guynith Thompson maintained timely and engaging library and JM4C displays that
helped promote library materials and JM4C activities, provided cross-training of staff during her
tenure, kept up with the changes in technology and reference services as they evolved through
the years, maintained the highest level of professionalism and willingly worked with all patrons and
coworkers on any needed tasks in the best interest of the library; and
WHEREAS, it is desired that such commendable service to the City of Janesville be properly
recognized;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the people of the City of Janesville, through the City
Council, do express their grateful appreciation to Guynith Thompson for her more than thirty-one
years of loyal public service.
