Voicemail Instructions Councilmember Voice Mail Instructions There are two ways to listen to your voice mail messages. The recommended way is to open your Outlook email account from your iPad or other computer, select the voice message and select Play. If you use your iPad, just open up email. If you use a different computer, go to the City of Janesville webpage and follow the instructions attached to this. The second way is to call your assigned City telephone number and follow the steps below under To log on to voicemail from outside. However, please note that when you call your voicemail from a telephone, the operator will attempt to read any text emails that you may have in your inbox. You will have to use one of the Basic Controls to skip or move ahead (#) when the operator starts to read an email message instead of play a voice message. To log on to voicemail from outside  Dial your own 7 digit phone number (373-60xx).  Press the * key when voicemail answers.  Enter your ID (the last 4 digits of your phone number), then press the # key.  Enter your password, then press the # key. Basic Controls Dial voicemail and log on:  Hear new messages 1  Send new messages 2  Review old messages 3  Setup options 4  Cancel or back up *  Skip or move ahead # During Message Playback After Message Playback  Repeat 1  Repeat 1  Save 2  Save 2  Delete 3  Delete 3  Change volume 5  Reply 4  Reverse 7  Forward message 5  Pause or continue 8  Mark as new 6  Fast forward to end 9  Reverse 7  Hear summary 9 To record a greeting Dial voicemail and log on.  Press 4, 1, 1  After voicemail plays your current greeting, press 1 to re-record. Or press 3 to record a different greeting, choose the greeting, and then re- record it. Use these keys as you record  Pause or continue 8  End recording #
