2021-1876 RESOLUTION NO. 2021-1876
A resolution recognizing Sue Conley for her loyal and conscientious service to the
City of Janesville as a City Councilmember.
WHEREAS, Sue Conley served the City of Janesville from 2017 to 2021 as a member of the City Council; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Conley served as Council President in 2020-2021; and
WHEREAS, during her term in office, Ms. Conley served as a member of the Community Development
Authority, Janesville Metropolitan Planning Organization Policy Board, Sustainable Janesville Committee,
Downtown Janesville, Inc., and the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee; and
WHEREAS, during her term, the City Council accomplished many achievements, of which Ms. Conley
recognizes quality of life improvements as being the most significant, including the development of affordable,
market-rate and high-end housing stock; the expansion of single-family homes; increased safety for persons
experiencing homeless within the community, through the implementation of overnight parking; improvements
to parks and trails, as well as the recreation areas along the Rock River; the removal of the Monterey Dam;
becoming a Green Tier community; the completion of Town Square and its subsequent economic impact; and
navigating the concerns and uncertainties of the COVID-19 pandemic; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Conley's intelligence, thoughtfulness, and compassion for the community and its citizens
characterized her tenure in office throughout, and which is evidenced by her work to make the City of
Janesville the Community of Choice; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Conley performed the duties of a member of the City Council with an exemplary level of
dedication, honesty, and integrity;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Janesville presents this
commendation to Sue Conley in sincere appreciation for her loyal and conscientious service to the City of
Janesville.
