PURPOSE
To clarify and record the policy of the City Council regarding citizen appointments to boards,
commissions, and committees made by the Council or its President.
STATEMENT OF POLICY
1. All appointments by Council shall be made by the Council President and confirmed by the
Council,
2. All appointments by Council shall be made as soon as practical after the new Council is
organized in April.
3. All appointments by Council shall be made from the list of individuals that applied for board,
commission, and committee vacancies in the calendar year in which the appointment is
made.
4. The term of each person appointed by the Council for a year or multiple thereof shall begin
on the first Monday in May and terminate on the Sunday prior to the first Monday in May in
the appropriate year, unless otherwise specifically directed.
