2020-1812 RESOLUTION NO. 2020-1812
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A GENERAL FUND SUPPLEMENTAL BUDGET
APPROPRIATION FOR CALENDAR YEAR 2020 FOR CONTINGENCY
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Janesville adopted a General Fund budget
totaling $52,665,734 for calendar year 2020; and,
WHEREAS, a General Fund supplemental budget appropriation in an amount not to exceed four
hundred and fifty-five thousand and seven hundred and sixty-seven dollars ($455,767) is
requested for the following items; and,
WHEREAS, this General Fund supplemental budget appropriation is designed to remain just
under the City's Expenditure Restraint Program (ERP) limit for 2020 and maximize the City's ERP
limit for 2021; and,
WHEREAS, this General Fund supplemental budget appropriation is projected to increase the
City's ERP limit by $455,767 for 2021; and
WHEREAS, Common Council Policy 58, Part 7 authorizes the Common Council of the City of
Janesville to provide a supplemental budget appropriation;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the Common Council of the City of Janesville, finds that
it is in the best interest of the City of Janesville to provide for and authorize a General Fund
supplemental budget appropriation for calendar year 2020 for contingency to maximize the City's
ERP limit for 2021; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of Janesville that it hereby
authorizes a supplemental budget appropriation from the General Fund Undesignated Balance to
be made in an amount not to exceed four hundred and fifty-five thousand and seven hundred and
sixty-seven dollars ($455,767) for calendar year 2020 for contingency.
