2020-1806 RESOLUTION NO. 2020-1806
A RESOLUTION REASSIGNING WARDS TO POLLING PLACES FOR THE
NOVEMBER 3, 2020 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION ONLY.
WHEREAS, the voting is an integral part of democracy; and
WHEREAS, the City of Janesville respects the time that residents must sacrifice in
order to vote; and
WHEREAS, the COVID-19 pandemic has altered how residents vote and the number of
voters that vote in person; and
WHEREAS, the COVID-19 pandemic has decreased the number of citizens willing to
serve as election inspectors; and
WHEREAS, the COVID-19 pandemic requires extra precautions be taken by the City in
order to ensure the safety of election inspectors and voters; and
WHEREAS, the City has identified appropriate polling places that meet needs of the
citizens and will increase social distancing and allow for adequate staffing;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of
Janesville that it hereby assigns the City wards to the following polling places for the
November 3, 2020 election only:

Wards 1 , 2, and 31 Rock County Job Center
Wards 3 and 4 City Hall
Wards 5, 6, 33 and 36 Rock County Job Center
Wards 7, 8, 9, 10, 30 and 32 Rock County Job Center
Wards 11, 14, and 16 Sears — West Entrance
Wards 23, 24, 25 and 26 Sears — South Entrance
Wards 13, 15 and 29 Hedberg Public Library
Wards 17 and 18 Sears — West Entrance
Wards 19, 20, 21, 22, 34 and 35 Sears — West Entrance
Wards 12, 27 and 28 Sears — South Entrance
