CITY OF JANESVILLE
RESOLUTION NO. 2005-206
A Resolution establishing the Transportation Project Plat (Relocation Order) for the
acquisition of right-of-way on Centerway.
WHEREAS, to properly establish, layout, widen, enlarge, extend, construct,
reconstruct, improve, or maintain a portion of the highway hereinafter described, it is
necessary to acquire certain lands or interests in lands, as shown on the attached plat
marked Transportation Project Plat required for U.S.H. 51/Centerway, City of Janesville,
Rock County, Project 1.0. 5351-01-22, as approved by the Wisconsin Department of
Transportation; and
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of Janesville, together with the Wisconsin
Department of Transportation, recognizes the need to improve U.S.H. 51/Centerway
between Court Street and Parker Drive to provide for increasing vehicular traffic, to
eliminate deteriorating conditions and high maintenance costs, and to improve traffic
safety; and
WHEREAS, the City of Janesville shall acquire certain lands and interests therein as
shown on the attached plat marked Transportation Project Plat as provided by Chapter
84, Wisconsin Statutes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Common Council of the City of
Janesville, pursuant to authority granted under Sections 62.22, 84.02(3) and 84.09,
Wisconsin Statutes, hereby authorizes this Transportation Project Plat (Relocation
Order) and directs the City Manager to begin the process of acquiring property for this
roadway improvement on behalf of the City and the Wisconsin Department of
Transportation.
1.) The said highway is laid out and established to the lines and widths as shown on
the plat;
2.) The required lands or interests in lands as shown on the plat shall be acquired by
the City of Janesville, in the name of the State of Wisconsin, pursuant to the
provisions of Section 84.09(1) or (2) and (3m), Wisconsin Statutes.
3.) This order supersedes and amends any previous order issued by the City of
Janesville, Wisconsin.
