2005-200 RESOLUTION NO. 2005-200 A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SALE OR TRANSFER OF CITY-OWNED LOTS ON SOUTH ACADEMY AND CHERRY STREET WHEREAS, the City of Janesville owns two (2) residential lots in the 1100 block of Academy Street and two (2) residential lots in the 1100 block of Cherry Street which were acquired with general fund money by the City of J anesville in 1996 and 1998 for future expansion ofthe General Motors plant with a legal description as follows: LOTS 6, 7,14, AND THE EAST 2/3 OF LOT 11, MILTIMORE'S NEW ADDITION, A RECORDED SUBDIVISION, BEING LOCATED IN THE SW. y.¡ OF THE NW. y.¡ OF SECTION 1, TOWNSHIP 2, RANGE 12 EAST, LOCATED WITHIN THE CITY OF JANESVILLE, ROCK COUNTY, WI. WHEREAS, in February of 2005 the Common Council of the City of J anesville determined that the four properties west of the General Motors Plant should be declared surplus property and sold or donated for housing redevelopment; and WHEREAS, this property transaction was reviewed and approved by the J anesville Plan Commission which found that such proposed surplus property sale, transaction and uses were consistent with City plans, and in the City's best interest, although not evaluating the financial aspects of the transaction: and WHEREAS, the Common Council finds this property sale and transaction and the proposed use of the properties for housing redevelopment is in the best interest and benefit of the community and the City and authorized by Sections 62.22(1), 62.23(17), 62.11(5) and 66.0101 of the Wisconsin Statutes. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council ofthe City of Janesville that they hereby authorize and direct the City Manager and the City Clerk and his/her designee to negotiate, enter into and execute, on behalf of the City of Janesvi11e, ~~~~m~~~~~~~~~~~~~~M contemplated herein; and to negotiate, draft, execute, record and file such documents, papers and forms as may from time to time, be necessary and/or desirable to effectuate such transaction and the intent of this resolution as the City Manager may decide; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Common Council that the City Manager and his designees are hereby authorized to take at any time and from time to time whatever other actions and make whatever minor changes to these transactions, sales, funds and related documents that the City Manager may from time to time find necessary and/or desirable to effec~uate the intent of this resolution.
