2020-1797 RESOLUTION NO. 2020-1797 WHEREAS, Lecia Heitsman is retiring from City of Janesville employment after having diligently served the people of the City and the community for over 31 years, retiring as a Records Clerk with the Janesville Police Department; and WHEREAS, during Lecia Heitsman's employment with the City, she provided exemplary professional service and demonstrated conscientious devotion to the duties of her position, which she performed with skill and ability, sincerity, honesty, and dedication; and WHEREAS, Lecia Heitsman began her employment with the City as a Clerk Typist in the Clerk-Treasurer's Office in March of 1989 and later that same year, was transferred to the Janesville Police Department as a part-time Records Technician; and WHEREAS, Lecia Heitsman held a variety of positions during her time with the Janesville Police Department including full-time and part-time Records Technician and Records Clerk, and she was the primary employee entering all warrant entries into the National Crime Information Center and fully training her replacements prior to retirement; and WHEREAS, Lecia Heitsman was named the 2008 Civilian Employee of the Year and served on the Strategic Planning Committee in 2009-2010; and WHEREAS, it is desired that such commendable service to the City of Janesville be properly recognized; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the people of the City of Janesville, through the City Council, do express their grateful appreciation to Lecia Heitsman for her thirty-one plus years of loyal public service.
