2020-1784 RESOLUTION NO. 2020 — 1784
Whereas, Edward Koel, Jr., retired from City of Janesville employment after having
diligently served the people of the City of Janesville and the community for more than
34 years, retiring as a Crew Leader in the Parks Division of Public Works; and
Whereas, during Edward Koel, Jr.'s employment with the City of Janesville, he provided
exemplary professional service and demonstrated conscientious devotion to the duties
of his position, which he performed with skill and ability, sincerity, honesty, and
dedication; and
Whereas, Edward Koe1, Jr., began his employment with the City of Janesville as a
seasonal employee in the Streets Department and was reclassified to a permanent
Sanitary Equipment Operator in 1986; and
Whereas, in the course of his employment, he also held the position of Equipment
Operator 1 in the Streets 'Department before transferring to Parks 'Division where he
held the positions of Leadman 1, Working Foreman, and Crew Leader; and
Whereas, Edward Koel, Jr. led numerous playground installation and park improvement
projects, worked with countless community groups, and is fondly remembered by park
neighbors and Friends members; and
Whereas, Edward Koel was awarded the Leisure Services City Employee of the Year
Award in 2002; and
Whereas, it is desired that such commendable service to the City of Janesville be
properly recognized;
Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved that the people of the City of Janesville, through the
City Council, do express their grateful appreciation to Edward Koel, Jr., for his more
than 34 years of loyal public service.
