2020-1776 RESOLUTION NO. 2020 — 1776
Whereas, Cynthia A. Seichter is retiring from City of Janesville employment after having
diligently served the people of the City of Janesville and the community for 32 years,
retiring as a Bus Driver with the Janesville Transit System (JTS); and
Whereas, during Cynthia Seichter's employment with the City, she provided exemplary
professional service and demonstrated conscientious devotion to the duties of her
position, which she performed with skill and ability, sincerity, honesty, and dedication;
and
Whereas, Cynthia Seichter began her employment with the City as a Part-time Bus
Driver with JTS and was promoted to Full-Time Bus Driver in October 1992; and
Whereas, Cynthia is well-known throughout the State of Wisconsin for her bus
operation abilities and technical bus acumen, having routinely earned high marks at
"bus road-eo" competitions and was recipient of the Rookie of the Year Award; and
Whereas, Cynthia was the Transit Employee of the Year in 1999; and
Whereas, Cynthia consistently focused on safety and proper commercial vehicle
operation, having never experienced a preventable vehicle accident; and
Whereas, Cynthia was a founding member of the JTS Hiring Advisory Committee,
served on the JTS Safety Committee and JTS Uniform Advisory Work Group, and also
served as a Union Steward for Teamsters Local Union No. 695; and
Whereas, it is desired that such commendable service to the City of Janesville be
properly recognized; and
Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved that the people of the City of Janesville, through the
City Council, do express their grateful appreciation to Cynthia Seichter for her 32 years
of loyal public service.
