2020-790 ORDINANCE NO. 2020— 790 As Amended
An ordinance: (A) permitting the sale of unopened, pre-packaged intoxicating liquor for off-premises
consumption by Class B intoxicating liquor licensees; and (B) permitting the drive-through and
curbside, face-to-face, sale of beer, wine, and intoxicating liquors by all Class A and B fermented malt
beverage and intoxicating liquor, and Class C wine, licensees; but both only while the City of
Janesville's Proclamation of Emergency is in effect, both with penalties and other relief for violations
thereof set forth in Janesville General Ordinance Sec. 6-104.
THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JANESVILLE DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. Section 6-91.1 of the Code of General Ordinances of the City of Janesville is hereby created to
read as follows:
"Sec. 6-95.1 — Sale Permitted For Off-Premises Consumption by Class B Intoxicating Liquor Licensees. A
Class B intoxicating liquor alcohol beverage licensee may sell unopened, prepackaged intoxicating liquor in
face-to-face sales for off-premises consumption. This permission and subsection shall expire when the City of
Janesville's Proclamation of Emergency is no longer in effect "
SECTION II. Section 6-29 of the Code of General Ordinances of the City of Janesville is hereby created to
read as follows:
"Sec. 6-29. — Curbside Sales Permitted By All Alcohol Beverage Licensees For Off-Premises Consumption. All
Class A, B, and C fermented malt beverage, intoxicating liquor, and wine licensees may sell unopened,
prepackaged alcohol beverages already permitted for their license type at curbside in face-to-face-sales for off-
premises consumption. All social distancing protocols must be observed. This permission and subsection shall
expire when the City of Janesville's Proclamation of Emergency is no longer in effect. The Common Council
find it is in the economic benefit and best interests of the City to adopt this ordinance."
