2020-1733 RESOLUTION NO. 2020 — 1733 Whereas, Erik Goth is retiring from City of Janesville employment after having diligently served the people of the City of Janesville and the community for 25 years, retiring as a Police Detective with the Janesville Police Department; and Whereas, during Erik Goth's employment with the City of Janesville, he provided exemplary professional service and demonstrated conscientious devotion to the duties of his position, which he performed with skill and ability, sincerity, honesty, and dedication; and Whereas, Erik Goth began his employment with the City of Janesville as a Police Officer with the Janesville Police Department; and Whereas, Erik Goth was involved in a variety of assignments during his career including Police Officer, First and Second Shift, and Detective in the Investigation Division, First and Second Shift; and Whereas, Erik Goth's work forming the Prenatal Education curriculum and instructing expectant parents on the dangers of co-sleeping most likely saved the lives of many newborn babies; and Whereas, Erik Goth received the City of Janesville's Mighty Oak Award in June 2016, the Janesville Police Department's Letter of Commendation in March 2003, and a Chief's Commendation in August 2014; and Whereas, it is desired that such commendable service to the City of Janesville be properly recognized; Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved that the people of the City of Janesville, through the City Council, do express their grateful appreciation to Erik Goth for his 25 years of loyal public service.
