2019-778 ORDINANCE NO. 2019-778 An ordinance annexing territory located in Section 16, T.3N., R.13E. of the 4th P.M., Harmony Township, Rock County, Wisconsin. WHEREAS, a petition signed by the owners of one-half of the land within such territory proposed to be annexed has been filed with the City Clerk-Treasurer; and WHEREAS, there are two electors residing in the territory; and WHEREAS, the necessary notices have been duly prepared, provided and served as required by law to all persons affected; and WHEREAS, this ordinance does not contain temporary zoning; and WHEREAS, the Department of Administration has not found the proposed annexation to be against the public interest; and WHEREAS, the Common Council has determined that this annexation is in the public interest. NOW THEREFORE THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JANESVILLE DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I. The territory described as follows is hereby attached to the City of Janesville. PART OF A CERTIFIED SURVEY MAP AS RECORDED IN VOLUME 10. PAGES 191 AND 192 OF CERTIFIED SURVEY MAPS OF ROCK COUNTY, WISCONSIN AS DOCUMENT NO. 934915 AND PART OF THE SE.1/4 OF THE NE.1/4 OF SECTION 16, T.3N., R.13E. OF THE 4TH P.M., TOWN OF HARMONY, ROCK COUNTY, WISCONSIN. DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS: Commencing at the East 1/4 corner of said Section; thence N88°35'29"W. along the East-West Centerline of said Section, 33.02 feet to the West Line of N. Harmony Townhall Road, also being at the place of beginning for the land to be herein described; thence N88°35'29"W continuing along said East-West Centerline, 1289.63 feet to the West Line of the SE.1/4 of the NE.1/4 of said Section; thence N0°57'55"W along said West Line 659.40 feet to the South Line of Rotamer Ridge Estates Fourth Addition; thence S88°33'59"E along said South Line and the North Line of the South '/2 of the Se.1/4 of the NE.1/4 of said Section 1289.64 feet to a line 33 feet West of and parallel to the East Line of the SE.1/4 of said Section; thence S0°57'58"E along said parallel line, 658.83 feet to the place of beginning. Containing 19.5 acres. SECTION II. After this annexation becomes effective, the above described property shall be exempt from and not subject to further taxation and assessments in the Town of Harmony and thence forth shall be subject to taxation and assessment as part of the City of Janesville for any and all purpose provided by law. SECTION III. All the territory attached by this ordinance is hereby made part of Ward 22 of the City of Janesville. SECTION IV. There are two residents in the area proposed for annexation. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon adoption by the Common Council, the public health, welfare, peace, tranquility, good order, public benefit, and police power so requiring.
