2019-1719 RESOLUTION NO. 2019 — 1719
Whereas, Timothy L. Hiers is retiring from City of Janesville employment after having
diligently served the people of the City of Janesville and the community for 30 years,
retiring as a Police Lieutenant with the Janesville Police Department; and
Whereas, during Timothy Hiers' employment with the City of Janesville, he provided
exemplary professional service and demonstrated conscientious devotion to the duties
of his position, which he performed with skill and ability, sincerity, honesty, and
dedication; and
Whereas, Timothy Hiers began his employment with the City of Janesville as a Police
Officer with the Janesville Police Department on October 23, 1989; and
Whereas, Timothy Hiers was involved in a variety of assignments during his career
including Field Training Officer, ID Officer, Police Sergeant, Records Section
Supervisor, Emergency Response Team Supervisor, Police Lieutenant Patrol Division,
Police Lieutenant Investigation Division; and
Whereas, Timothy Hiers was the Police Department's Employee of the Year in 1998;
and
Whereas, Timothy Hiers received the Janesville Police Department's Award of
Excellence for 2018; and
Whereas, it is desired that such commendable service to the City of Janesville be
properly recognized;
Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved that the people of the City of Janesville, through the
City Council, do express their grateful appreciation to Timothy L. Hiers for his 30 years
of loyal public service.
