2019-1682 FILE RESOLUTION NO. 2019-1682
A resolution supporting the naming of Northeast Regional Park to Sheiffer Park.
WHEREAS, Steven E. Sheiffer was City Manager for the City of Janesville from 1987 to
2008; and
WHEREAS, during his 21-year career, six parcels of land were acquired that constitute
the 85-acre Northeast Regional Park; and
WHEREAS, it is desired to name the park after Steven E. Sheiffer; and
WHEREAS, the proposed name will become official only in accordance with Council
Policy Statement No. 94; after introduction, the proposal must be reviewed by the Parks
and Recreation Advisory Committee and not acted on for ninety (90) days after
introduction.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL of the City of
Janesville, that the Janesville City Council do hereby rename Northeast Regional Park
as "Sheiffer Park."
