2019-771 ORDINANCE NO. 2019-771
An ordinance annexing territory located in Section 27 and Section 28 of T.3N., R.12E. of
the 4th P.M., Janesville Township, Rock County, Wisconsin.
WHEREAS, a petition signed by the owner of the land within such territory proposed to be
annexed has been filed with the City Clerk-Treasurer; and
WHEREAS, there are two electors residing in the territory; and
WHEREAS, the necessary notices have been duly prepared, provided, and served as required
by law to all persons affected; and
WHEREAS, this ordinance does not contain temporary zoning; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Administration has not found the proposed annexation to be
against the public interest; and
WHEREAS, the Common Council has determined that this annexation is in the public interest.
NOW THEREFORE THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JANESVILLE DO ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. The territory described as follows is hereby attached to the City of Janesville.
All of Lot 1 CSM 706999 and part of the NW1/4 of the NW1/4 Section 27 and part of the NE1/4
of the NE1/4 Section 28 all located in T-3-N, R-12-E of the 4th P.M. Town of Janesville, Rock
County Wisconsin described as follows:
COMMENCING at the NW corner of said Section 27, thence South along the west line of the
NW 1/4 of said Section 27, 1327.75 ft to the SW corner of said CSM 706999 also being the
POINT OF BEGINNING; thence S89°55'E, 66 ft to the SW corner of said Lot 1 CSM706999;
thence continuing S89°55' E along the south line of said Lot 1 CSM 706999, 175.71 ft to the SE
corner of said Lot 1 CSM 706999; thence North along the east line of said Lot 1 CSM 706999,
208.71 ft to the NE corner of said Lot 1 CSM 706999; thence N89°55'W along the north line of
said Lot 1 CSM 706999, 241.71 ft to the said west line of the NW1/4 of Section 27; thence
West, 14 ft to the west R/W line of Austin Rd, also being the east line of Lot One CSM 766098;
thence South along the said west R/W line of Austin Road, approximately 46.7 ft to the SE
corner of said Lot One CSM 766098; thence East 14 ft to the said west line of the NW1/4 of
Section 27; thence South along the said west line of the NW1/4 of Section 27, approximately
162.0 ft to the POINT OF BEGINNING.
Containing approximately 51,100 s.f. (1.17 ac).
Bearing are referenced to the west line of the NW1/4 of Section 27, recorded as South.

SECTION II. After this annexation becomes effective, the above described property shall be
exempt from and not subject to further taxation and assessments in the Town of Janesville and
thence forth shall be subject to taxation and assessment as part of the City of Janesville for any
and all purpose provided by law.
SECTION III. All the territory attached by this ordinance is hereby made part of Ward 36 of the
City of Janesville.
SECTION IV. There are 2 residents in the area proposed for annexation.
SECTION V. The annexation is within the School District of Janesville.
SECTION VI. This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon adoption by the Common
Council, the public health, welfare, peace, tranquility, good order, public benefit, and police
power so requiring.
