RESOLUTION # 2005-154
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT FOR A
DOWNTOWN FARMERS MARKET
WHEREAS, the City of Janesville has continued to encourage and support
activities which stimulate and revitalize programs for downtown Janesville; and
WHEREAS, the City of Janesville and the Farmers Market Steering Committee
(FMSC) are proposing to co-sponsor a Downtown Farmers Market on Saturday's from
May yth, 2005 through October 29th, 2005; and
WHEREAS, the FMSC intents to conduct fund raising activities and volunteer
service in support of the Farmers Market; and
WHEREAS, the Janesville Common Council approves the proposed 2005
Farmer's Market budget of $24,300 and approves the establishment of a special
revenue fund; and
WHEREAS, the City will be reimbursed for our expenses associated with the
Farmer's Market by FMSC and Community Development Block Grant funds (if
necessary); and
WHEREAS, the Janesville Common Council finds it to be in the City's best
interest and benefit to the Community and the City to allow a Farmer's Market to take
place in downtown Janesville.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Common Council of the City of
Janesville that they hereby authorize and direct the City Manager and/or his designee to
execute an agreement with the Farmer's Market Steering Committee on behalf of the
City of Janesville, as the City Manager may deem necessary or desirable to effectuate
the intent of this resolution.
